it's been a long time since I've been active on DA. But I plan on changing that!
A lot of things have changed over the last months.
I moved in with my boyfriend and we hit the jackpot with our new apartment. It is absolutely gorgeous and quite low priced for the district we are living in. Besides that, a lot is happening with family and friends. People are moving to different cities, getting ill and fortunately better again, getting married and having kids.
This year was packed with work until now, because I had problems with finishing my masters degree at university, due to a totally awful teacher who made promises to me that turned out to be total bull. I learned Turkish for three semesters and I was told this will be sufficient to fulfill my language requirement. Two years after I finished the last class, while I was actually sitting in an office to enroll for my master thesis, the caseworker looks at me and tells me my certificate was not sufficient.
Long story short, I've spent the first half of this year learning Dutchlike a lunatic, so I would finally be permitted to start my master thesis. The requirement to learn two other foreign languages is quite ridiculous, because you only need it to be allowed to start your master thesis and for nothing else. Doesn't even matter which languages you learn. Even though I was totally devastated that I could not start my thesis as planned, learning Dutch is quite fun and now I see it as a personal gain instead of an annoying obligation.
Now I am preparing for my oral examination which will take place on Thursday. My written thesis is finished and I feel relieved even though I feel not giddy with pleasure right now as I expected it to be when I am finally through with my studies. Maybe I'll feel that way on Thursday. So, keep your fingers crossed for me.
I will upload some of the art again that I drew back in Ireland (it seems like an eternity ago) and hopefully some other art soon. I will clear out some of my older deviations. Most of the older pictures will stay in the gallery, simply because they represent what I've learned over the years, even though I do not like some of them that much anymore.
To all the people who faved pictures while I was inactive: Thanks so much!
I'll answer any comments left unanswered over the next days.
I am looking forward to hear from all of you and I am eager to exchange advice, critique and praise for your art as well as mine.
(While writing this journal I realized how rusty my writing skills in English are... shame on me)
So, enjoy your weekend!
